Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a health emergency during his sermon on Sunday, and his daughter is offering an update.
On Sunday, November 24 while delivering a sermon at The Potter’s House Church in Dallas, Jakes abruptly stopped as his body started shaking. Multiple people rushed out to help him, leaving those who saw the incident to wonder what happened.
After the incident, a video of the moment quickly went viral on social media leaving people up in arms as they speculated that he may have had a stroke.
Just one day later, Bishop T.D. Jakes’ daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, took to Instagram to share an update on her father’s health.
While joined by her husband, Touré Roberts, she started the message by saying:
“Hey family. I know today’s been an interesting day for us. But we didn’t want to lay down without giving you all an update about how everything is going with Bishop.”
Sarah went on to express just how grateful the whole family is for all of the prayers and support after the news of T.D. Jakes’ medical emergency spread across social media.
“Yeah we felt those prayers,” Touré added. “Obviously today could have been a tragic day. But it wasn’t by the mercy of God, by the grace of God. Bishop is doing well. He’s recovering well. He’s under medical care. He’s strong. We’re trying to get him to sit down. He’s the strong Bishop that we know.”
Sarah went on to say, “I’m so grateful that he’s already beginning to improve and I think it’s just a reminder even going into this holiday season week to love on the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God’s given you.”
The comments are flooded with thousands of prayers and well wishes for Bishop as everyone hopes for a speedy recovery.
The Potter’s House has also released a statement confirming that Jake is stable after his “slight health incident” and is under the care of health professionals.
