Moms have an uncanny ability to embarrass their teenagers, even when they’re the legendary diva Mariah Carey.
Such was the case when 13-year-old Moroccan Cannon decided to briefly invite our beloved Mimi and his twin sister, Monroe, into his room during a Twitch livestream before quickly remembering that his mother is one of the most famous people on the planet. After realizing his stream had now turned into a Mariah lovefest, he demanded that the two leave.
“Okay, y’all need to get out now. Just, everybody get out,” Rocky told his mother and sister, seemingly embarrassed. “Mom, they can see you. They’re saying, ‘Hi Mariah, I love you!’ Oh my God.”
Ever the kind diva, Mimi sent the love right back to the giddy teenagers on the stream.
“Hi, you guys!” Carey told the audience. “I love you too.”
Of course, the twins—whom Mariah shares with serial inseminator Nick Cannon—see the icon as nothing more than their mom. During her annual Christmas concert, Carey spoke on just how close she is to her children and her plans to support their dreams should they want to follow in the footsteps of their parents.
“I think they’re both very talented and smart, and if they want to pursue having a life as an entertainer, then I think they should,” she said. “It’s a hard kind of life, but they seem to really love performing, so I’m happy for them.”
Their busy father also gave fans an inside look at his relationship with the twins when he posted a house tour hosted by Monroe and Moroccan on his YouTube channel earlier this year. As the oldest of his 12-children brigade, it’s clear that they’re both pretty used to their dad’s shenanigans. Nonetheless, it wouldn’t be farfetched to see Nick make an appearance on his son’s livestream sometime soon.
