Respected journalist, media personality and cultural commentator Janeé Bolden has launched a brand-new podcast titled Hey Janeé, just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month. With a career rooted in storytelling and celebrating Black culture, Bolden’s latest endeavor blends pop culture analysis, personal reflection, and wellness practices in a format that feels both affirming and refreshingly authentic. Read more and watch the first episode inside.

Described by Bolden as “culture through my lens,” Hey Janeé offers listeners a weekly mix of insight, joy, and intention. In her debut episode, titled “I Am Capable. I Am Fearless.” Bolden shares her perspective on embracing life’s blessings and finding joy in small wins. On the first episode we meet Janeé, who’s celebrating her birthday and her new era as a full-time entrepreneur. In the episode, Janeé opens up about her personal milestone with show producer Meaghan Taylor and intern Zada Luby. The trio also discusses the Met Gala as a recent moment of Black Joy. Janeé discusses the new Netflix series “Forever.” The pod also share thoughts on ‘Sinners’ before discussing Janeé’s recent articles on NYC eatery Sei Less, Dream Machine’s AI x Library project and “Temptation Island” breakout star Hashim Moore. Before closing out Janeé shares the affirmation for the week.

The first episode sets the tone for what’s to come — a safe space where cultural commentary meets mindfulness. Each episode of Hey Janeé features curated segments designed to uplift and engage. “Black Joy Moment of the Week” highlights feel-good news and moments of collective celebration in the Black community. “See, Stream, Skip” gives listeners honest media recommendations — and isn’t afraid to skip conversations that fuel unnecessary negativity.

A signature segment, “Six Degrees,” brings guests into the fold by finding common ground through shared experiences and backgrounds. In “What I’m Working On,” Bolden shares three stories she’s recently written, offering listeners links to her work via her personal Substack. The show wraps each episode with a powerful “Weekly Affirmation” — a moment of grounding and encouragement.

By weaving joy, introspection, and culture into a single platform, Hey Janeé is a reminder of the importance of prioritizing mental health while staying connected to community and creativity. The podcast reflects Bolden’s passion for meaningful storytelling and her commitment to centering wellness, especially during Mental Health Awareness Month.
