Although there is still a global pandemic going on, that does not mean that music’s biggest night will come to a stop. On Tuesday, the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards were announced. Like many events this year, the reading of the nominations happened virtually. However, stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Sharon Osbourne, Gayle King, Dua Lipa, Yemi Alade, and a few others were on board for the live stream as they announced the latest nominees.
With a total of 83 categories spanning across various genres of music, major names like Beyoncé, Jhené Aiko, Da Baby, Roddy Ricch, Drake, Lil Baby, Justin Bieber, Chloe X Halle, and many others are being recognized for their amazing artistry over the past year.
Beyoncé leads with the most nominations as she earned a total of nine nominations for both her solo work and collaborative work. She has earned not one, but two nominations for record of the year. Her song “Black Parade,” and her work with Megan Thee Stallion on the “Savage” Remix are being recognized. She has earned nominations in other categories such as Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, Best Rap Performance, among others.
Jhené Aiko is also getting her flowers following the release of the nominations. Her latest album “Chilombo” has been nominated for Album of the Year, and she has also received a nomination in the Best R&B Performance category.
Lil Baby, Da Baby, and Roddy Ricch were also recognized for all of their solo smash hits as well.
