Everyone and their mama showed up Sunday night to Reginae Carter’s 99 & 2000’s themed birthday party at Republic Lounge in Atlanta. The star-studded guest list included her best friend, Zonnique Pullins. Zonnique is the daughter of Xscape singer Tamika ‘Tiny’ Harris. Zonnique was in attendance with her boyfriend, Baltimore rapper Bandhunta Izzy. The couple looked very cute with their matching airbrushed T-shirts.
While everyone jokes that Atlanta doesn’t believe in COVID-19, it’s hard to think otherwise, especially with the number of people in attendance who didn’t have on masks, or practiced social distancing. Many people criticized a very pregnant Zonnique for going to Reginae’s birthday party. Zonnique is expecting her first child with Izzy and although she was seen seated in the moments shared on Instagram, many felt that it was harmful, especially since her boyfriend was smoking right next to her. Today, Zonnique shared on Twitter a message to everyone who had negative comments. She tweeted, “Y’all wanna babysit or pay for a birthday or something? Concerned internet people?”
Some of her fans had mixed reactions. One user tweeted, “but they not wrong Niq. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and you weren’t wearing a mask.” Another one tweeted, “If the babysitting option is still open, I’d like her on Friday – Friday for a month. Thanks, pooh.” Zonnique continued to clear the air. She posted on her Instagram a Boomerang video of a health professional prepping COVID-19 tests. She captioned the video, “ We get COVID tested three times a week for ‘T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle.’ Y’all don’t have to be fake concerned 24/8.”
According to the CDC, pregnant women are at a higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 than non-pregnant women. Additionally, pregnant women that contract COVID-19 might have an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as preterm birth. No matter what people think, we are continuing to wish Zonnique and Izzy a safe delivery of their baby girl!
