Malia and Sasha Obama attended Destin Conrad’s listening party for his new project Love On Digital, and the internet seems to be happy to see the girls. The event, which likely took place just ahead of the album’s April 25 release, brought out several notable celebrities, including his longtime friend and collaborator Kehlani. The appearance that really captured the attention of fans is when photographer Ryder shared a now-viral photo of Malia and Sasha on April 29.
In the snapshot, the two daughters of former President Barack Obama stood on either side of Destin Conrad, giving effortlessly cool. Malia, 25, rocked long ginger waves, a deep brown jacket, and her signature smile. Sasha, 23, wore a cropped white t-shirt, low-rise jeans, and a black undergarment casually peeking through—a laid-back yet confident look that had social media buzzing.
Fans flooded the comments of The Shade Room’s post celebrating their glow-up, likening their sisterly bond and style to another iconic duo—Beyoncé and Solange. “I love when sisters SISTER the way they sister! ” one commenter wrote, while another added, “Them being this grown makes me feel old .”
The sighting marked the first time in over a month the sisters were spotted in public, their last appearance being a dinner outing with their father in Los Angeles. While the event gave fans an opportunity to see them having a good time, it also served as a reminder of how far the former First Daughters have come.
Malia has steadily been building her entertainment career, working on TV shows like Swarm and debuting her own short film The Heart at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival under the name Malia Ann. Meanwhile, Sasha recently graduated with a degree in sociology from the University of Southern California and continues to enjoy life away from the spotlight—at least when she’s not turning heads at star-studded events.
Their mother, Michelle Obama, recently opened up about the challenges of raising her daughters in the White House spotlight. Now, she says, they’re learning to navigate the world—and fame—on their own terms. Judging by their latest appearance, they’re doing just fine.
